How long have you been working with investors?
I’ve been working with real estate investors for about 10 years. What started as helping a few clients with rental properties has grown into a major part of our agency’s focus. Today, we work with investors of all sizes, from first-time landlords to large-scale portfolio managers.
What are the biggest challenges you are seeing in the market for your investor clients and how is your team advising them through those challenges?
Rising insurance premiums, virtual inspections, and tightening underwriting guidelines are a few of the biggest challenges we’re facing. Many carriers are pulling back or increasing deductibles, especially in catastrophe-prone areas. We focus on helping our clients understand market shifts early and develop strategies like portfolio reviews, proper valuation, and partnering with flexible programs like REInsurePro to stay ahead of disruptions.
How has your approach to working with investors changed over time?
Early on, we focused mostly on finding the lowest premiums. Now, we emphasize coverage strategy and risk management as much as price. Investors want efficiency and confidence that they’re covered when it matters.
